September 15, 1999	DSU Activities Fair	Visitors took a quiz on health terms to get a piece of candy.  They could also guess the number of bandaids in a jar to win the bandaids -- Kate Sizer was the lucky winner!
October 13, 1999	Adopt-A-Highway	Members picked up litter from a section of Highway 19 by Lake Madison and then enjoyed pizza!
October 4-7, 1999	AHIMA Convention	DSU HIM Club donated a DSU shirt to be used as a door prize at the Student Forum at the national convention in Anaheim.
October 9, 1999	Homecoming
October 13, 1999	Wellness Fair	We checked the height and weight of participants.  "Mini" medical records were provided to everyone to record results of their health tests.
November 9,1999	Blood Drive	Wow!  Our blood drive resulted in 63 pints of blood being donated.
November 7-13	National Health Information and Technology Week	The Club had a great party to celebrate -- food, presents, movie!!  We also sponsored events to give out prizes such as KJAM Radio's QUIZ BIZ, the Question of the Day in the Marketplace, and drawing of HIM students' names each day.
February 14	Happy Valentine's Day	The HIM Club sold "candy-grams" as a fundraiser.  These valentine cards with a candy sucker attached were delivered on Valentine's Day.
March 18	DSU Women's Day Celebration	Club members attended a luncheon and various speakers to celebrate successful women.  Very nice!
April 14 & 15	Health Fair at Empire Mall	We worked with the SDHIMA group to hand out brochures at the Empire Mall.
April 18	Adopt A Highway	Once again we picked up litter -- lots of litter!!  We worked up an appetite and the Pizza Ranch was the answer with a wonderful pizza and chicken buffet!  Makes the job easier when you know there is a treat at the end!
April 25	End of the Year Banquet	The banquet was held at the Moonlite.  Good food and good fun!  Awards and prizes were given and graduates, officers and advisors were honored.  Dr. Julie Smith gave the keynote talk and we all enjoyed that!
April 28	Club Trip	This year we went to Sioux Falls.  The Veterans' Hospital gave us a good tour and we also visited the Humane Society and learned about their operation.  We enjoyed an evening meal at the Crackerbarrel Restaurant and went to a movie -- "Where the Heart Is", all as guests of the HIM Club!
April 30	Zimmfest	The HIM Club participated in this DSU fundraising event.  Some of the money goes back to the participating groups and the rest goes to help someone in need.  We had a food booth selling walking tacos and pop.
May 4 & 5	SDHIMA Spring Meeting	A very informative Spring meeting was held in Chamberlain, SD at the beautiful Cedar Shores Resort.  Many interesting speakers were there and there was a good vendor show (with wonderful things to eat!)
