HIM Club Meeting Minutes –
February 4, 2008
Members present: Roxanna Williams, Alissa Scholten, Sarah Keppen, Donelle McClaren, Advisors: Dorine Bennett and Joyce Havlik
Next meeting: March 3, 2008 – same time and place (12:00 noon in Alumni Room of Trojan Center)
Officer elections: postponed until March meeting due to lack of attendance.
Spring recruitment /Bowling party: February 22 @ 9:30 Donelle will talk to Jim and reserve lanes. Club will pay for HIM students. Guests are welcome, but will need to pay own bowling cost
Pizza ranch fundraiser: February 4, 5 – 8 pm
Club trip: possible Omaha, NE trip on April 3-5 (leave on Thursday late afternoon, tours on Friday, socializing/tours on Saturday? Donnell will call facilities and arrange tour agenda; possible ideas were Boys Town, Nebraska Medical Center (Clarkson and University Hospital) including the Lied Transplant Center, Alegent Health (Bergan Mercy Medical Center), Omaha Zoo. Dorine will contact HIM Program in Omaha for suggestions and let Donnell know what she finds out. Lynn to check about hotel rooms for Thursday and Friday nights
Points for recognition awards: 5 points per meeting attended, 1 point per hour of activity participation. To be accumulated by academic year
Spring Banquet: April 22 at Nicky‘s. Decorate at 5:00, meal at 6:00. Alissa will call Nicky’s to confirm. Alissa will contact Brian Phinney in Mitchell as a possible speaker.
Projects:
Mitchell projects need to be completed – scheduled days to complete the
chart moving project to be Tuesday, Feb 5, 10-5
& Wednesday, Feb 6, noon – 5.
Dorine will send out an email to encourage students to participate.
Mitchell also has a purging project.
Possible record merging project at Sanford Sports Medicine in Sioux Falls. Sarah will contact and find out approximate time frame to complete.
Blood Drive: April 15th
Certificate of Merit: Deadlines and criteria for certificate of merit awards were reviewed.
