| September 19, 20007 | Beginning of the Year Pizza and Ice Cream
Social |
We kicked off the year with a pizza and ice cream social for all HIM students to attend. Officer's provided yummy toppings for the ice cream!! |
| September 19-21, 2007 | SDHIMA/SDAHO Convention in Sioux Falls |
Several students attended the annual SDHIMA/SDAHO Convention which was held in Sioux Falls. Students that attended enjoy various lectures, sat in on the SDHIMA board meeting, and went out to lunch together at Falls Grille in the Sheraton Hotel. |
| September 29, 2007 | DSU Homecoming Parade |
The theme for Homecoming was Rolling Out the Red Carpet. We created a mock red carpet on our float, had members dressed up in elegant attire holding statuettes. The sides of the truck had signs that say "DSU Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Everyone." Joining us on the float was Donelle's dog Sam!! |
| October 3, 2007 | Fall Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup |
We held our annual cleanup of our section of Highway 19. We enjoyed the buffet at Pizza Ranch afterwards. |

| October 11, 2007 | Pool Party at AmericInn |
We had a pool party at AmericInn in Madison. Taco bar fixings were provided by club officers. Afterwards we relaxed in pool and hot tub. |
| October 24, 2007 | Annual DSU Health Fair |
We had at booth at this year's health fair. We handed out mini Medical Information cards. Important medical information could be filled out on the card. People could also could guess the number of band-aids in jar and win a gift certificate to Java City. |
| November 4-10 2007 | Health Information & Technology Week
Celebration |
To celebrate HI&T week we had a celebration meeting. We ordered in pizza from Pizza Hut and then shared a delicious cake decorated with this year's HI&T Week logo. |
| November/December 2007 | Holiday Raffle Fundraiser |
Businesses in Madison generously donated prizes for our raffle drawing. We were able to raffle off 20 fabulous prizes. We raised over $500!! |
| December 8, 2007 | Day with Santa at Madison Armory |
We had a booth again at Day with Santa. Children could stop by our booth and color an ornament. |

| December 2007 | Records Moving Project for Avera Queen of Peace
in Mitchell |
Avera Queen of Peace asked for our help on a project to shift records in their main filing system to make pulling records off the shelves easier. |
| February 4, 2008 | Pizza Ranch Fundraiser Night |
We received 20% of all proceeds from sales at Pizza Ranch on our fundraising night. We raised over $85 dollars!! |
| February 22, 2008 | Bowling Party |
We had a bowling night at Cherry Lanes to celebrate all of our hard work so far this year. |
| March 2008 | Records Merging Project for Sanford Orthopedic
and Sports Medicine |
Sanford Ortho/Sports Medicine originally two separate clinics in the same building decided to combine to become one facility and with that combine to one records filing system. We helped them move records to the main filing system and also merge records for patient's that had two separate records. |
| April 3-4, 2008 | Club Trip to Omaha, NE |
We took a trip to Omaha, NE to tour the HIM department at Allegent Lakeside Hospital. This hospital has had an electronic health records system the entire time they have been open. The tour was very interesting. |

We had a very successful graduate banquet. Several club officers graduated with degrees. Outgoing treasurer Nikki Gilman graduated with HIT degree, outgoing president Roxanna Williams graduated with HIT degree, and outgoing Historian Lynn Raymond graduated with HIT degree. Our speaker was Brian Phinney who is the director of Health Information at Avera Queen of Peace in Mitchell, SD. He talked about his facilities implementation of an EHR. |
