HIM Meeting: April 7, 2008

Attendees:   Roxanna, Donelle, Sarah, Nikki, Lynn, Joyce

Upcoming events:

Wednesday, April 9, budget hearing at 12:25 in alumni room: Roxanna and Nikki will meet with the review board regarding the 2008-2009 projected budget to request vending funds.

April 15 Spring Blood Drive:  sign-up sheet was passed around for volunteers to sit at sign up table. Volunteers were asked to sign up for at least one 30 minute block.

April 14-18:  HIPS week poster contest:  posters were due today but since no posters were submitted we extended the contest to next Monday.  Sarah will send out a reminder email to try to get some posters submitted.  Club members are encouraged to submit something also. 

April 22 - Banquet:  Alissa is still not feeling well but according to her email she still needs bios sent to her so that the program can be made up.  Roxanna will talk to her tomorrow to make sure things are going according to plan and see if she needs any help.

Tuesday, May 6 – hwy cleanup:  Spring Highway cleanup was postponed until May 6 due to inclement weather conditions on scheduled day.

Projects were discussed:

Sarah will contact Marilyn at Mitchell to see if they were able to complete the 1^st project on their own.  There were only a couple stacks remaining.  We will also need to complete the 2^nd project there but it may need to be done over summer if anyone wants to or wait until fall semester.  Sarah will discuss this with Marilyn also.

We will also need to get something worked out with the Sioux Falls project.  This must be done on the weekends so we will need to encourage students to participate.

Spring SDHIMA meeting in Mitchell was discussed but no one attending will be able to make the meeting.  Roxanna will try to go on Friday but not sure if we sent in any registration.

Officer elections – We need to send information to Dorine regarding nominees.  Below are the people who are willing to be nominated for offices.

Possible officers:

Roxanna – any (Nikki suggested treasurer, president)

Sarah – president, any  (not treasurer)

Donelle – vp, secretary, historian

Alissa - vp

Courtney Coy – President (as per Joyce)  members discussed that she should come to meetings and begin with a lower officer position to become more familiar with the club and what we are doing but we do not want to discourage anyone from accepting any position.
