- Girl Scout Summary We are a group that works with the
local girl scout troops and council to provide activities for young girl
scouts.
- Last years activities
- Daisy (Kindergarteners) Teddy Bear Tea We brought
cups for the girls to decorate one meeting, and we brought cupcakes for
them to decorate along with picture frames to decorate for the girls the
second time. They brought their teddy bears and we drake “tea” (apple
juice) in our cups and shared about our teddy bears as we ate cupcakes.
- Brownie Dance Party (1st-3rd
grade) We had the girls come to DSU Underground and we had a dance
party. We showed them a new dance, let them dance their own dances in
the middle of a circle and be a leader on stage. We also showed them
the ballet part of Save the Last Dance and imitate it.
- Junior (4th-6th grade) “Fit
for a Princess” Night We had the girls come to the Zimm Hall lobby and
did their make-up and hair. We watched Princes Diaries Movies and had
pizza and snacks.
- Cadette/Studio 2B (7th grade and up)
Overnighter We had the girls come and spend the night in the Zimm Hall
lobby. We had a police officer come in and talk about self defense and
his drug dog.

- Activities
- Daisy – We will do a different variation of the
Teddy Bear Tea. We would like to purchase teddy bears with our account
money and also purchase white fabric to make teddy bear t-shirts. We
will have them precut to fit the general teddy bear size and then have
holes punched in them to tie them together. Have them decorate the
shirts, put them together, eat cupcakes and drink juice, pass teddy
bears wrapped up to a song, and then have them open the teddy bears and
put he homemade t-shirts on the teddy bear. Tentative Date: we will
find out at the next leaders meeting.
- Brownie – Silly Olympics on the TC Lawn or in the
Underground. We will have relays and races that are funny such as:
carrying eggs on spoons, oranges under the chin, etc. We will hopefully
be able to provide a snack…Olympic ring shaped snack. We will have them
from about 5:30/6:00-7:30-8:00. Tentative Date: October 11th
or 18th??
- Junior – Any ideas?? Something with Mary Kay
- Cadette/Senior/Studio 2B – Probably the same as
last year or similar. Add a scavenger hunt. Tentative Date: ??
- Us – Any ideas??
- Other – We are doing a toy drive for the people
who were affected by Hurricane Katrina. We are going to do it on campus
and ask the local council to help around the community. We plan on
paying for shipping and sending them out at Christmas time.
